Last years marathon was the 37th edition of the race and was held on October 26th. When the tickets went on sale to compete in the marathon they were sold out in 20 minutes and tickets were on sale almost one year in advance (pretty impressive!).
2020's race (which is very uncertain due to the Corona virus) was drawn using a ballot system instead, where by people expressing an interest to enter the race had 7 days to apply and the lucky winners were drawn out of a hat.
The marathon has a growing reputation for the care they put into all runners from the moment they arrive to the moment they cross the line and even after. This has lead to the demand increasing three fold in the past several years. That and the races growing reputation as one of the toughest and most scenic marathons available across the UK and Wales. Race day information can be found here.
Runners who are taking part will be treated to hydration and fuel stations throughout the race, medical support, baggage storage, entertainment, a free after race massage, souvenir shirt, energy drinks plus a finisher slate coast and of course fabulous local support throughout the race.
You can view 2019's course here.
